“I was concerned that, having been the centre of attention for four years, Benjamin might find it difficult to suddenly have to share his mum and dad with Molly. I needn’t have worried though because after some initial jealousy issues he’s taken the role of big brother well and truly in his stride. In fact it’s scary how quickly he’s growing up… I’m working four days a week now so Molly goes to nursery while Benjamin is at school – my husband and I share responsibility for picking them up at the end of the day. When I’m not being a mum I like to go running and enjoy cooking and photography. Like most mums I try to juggle work, and being a mum and wife, and some days I may not get it quite right, but that’s all part of the learning curve! All of my commitments mean that the time I spend with my kids is precious: whether we’re swimming or getting messy with arts and crafts the emphasis is always on fun.”
